Press release: Hotel Okura Amsterdam announces changes in management team

Amsterdam, 17 May 2019 – Following the appointment of Michiel Roelfsema as general manager of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, there will be a number of changes in the hotel’s management team. Michiel Roelfsema is pleased to announce that Femke Groeneveld-Weller and Jos Pallandt, both of whom already work at the hotel, are to take up new responsibilities.

In addition to her current position as commercial director, as of 17 May Femke Groeneveld-Weller (52) will also assume the role of deputy general manager and will consequently have a different position in the management team. After gaining more than 20 years of experience in the international hotel sector, Femke Groeneveld-Weller joined Hotel Okura Amsterdam in 2009 to continue her career in the hospitality industry. She initially joined our hotel in the position of director of conferences & events, before being appointed as commercial director with responsibility for the hotel’s commercial strategy in 2011. In her new role, Femke will remain responsible for the hotel’s commercial departments, while taking on the additional role of acting general manager in the absence of general manager Michiel Roelfsema.

Jos Pallandt (31) has a proven track record at the five-star superior Hotel Okura Amsterdam. He has held various positions since joining the hotel in 2009, including assistant front office manager and assistant director of food & beverage. Following his appointment as director of rooms, Jos will join the management team of Hotel Okura Amsterdam. As of 1 May, Jos Pallandt’s responsibilities include the front office, concierge, guest relations, security and housekeeping departments. He will also be responsible for Okura’s wellness centre Nagomi Spa & Health.
