Can I have a king or twin bed during my stay?
Please be informed that this is a request and that we cannot guarantee bed preference. Naturally, the front desk will try to accommodate your wishes upon check in.
Does the hotel have newspaper delivery?
We are able to book your preferred newspaper in advance at the time of booking.
Does Hotel Okura Amsterdam have smoking rooms?
We are a non-smoking hotel as per Dutch law. We have a designated smoking area outside in front of the hotel.
What kind of adapter is used in the Netherlands?
All of our rooms have wall sockets that are suitable for English, Swiss, French and Dutch plugs (type C and F). For United States travelers, we recommend to bring an adapter.
How many guests can stay in one room?
Maximum 2 persons are allowed to stay in one room, however the Junior Suites and Suites give the possibility to place an extra bed in the room. We can place a maximum of 1 extra bed per room due to fire safety regulation.
Does Hotel Okura Amsterdam have family rooms?
We do offer family rooms, which is a connecting room. A connecting room is a room that shares a wall with an adjoining room and is connected by a private door. This means that you have to book two rooms and let us know while booking that you need a connection between both rooms.
What is the additional charge for an extra bed?
The price for an extra bed for an adult is € 70 (from 12 years) and for children € 0 (0-11 years).
Do all rooms at Hotel Okura Amsterdam have an iron and ironing board?
Each room is equipped with an iron and ironing board. You will find both in the wardrobe.
Which TV channels are available in my hotel room?
National and selected international TV channels are available at no charge.
What bed type do the rooms in Hotel Okura Amsterdam have?

Are there any coffee facilities in the room?
All of our rooms have a Nespresso machine.
Do all rooms at Hotel Okura Amsterdam have a Japanese toilet?
Not all of our rooms have a Japanese toilet, but most of our Executive Rooms do.
Do all rooms at Hotel Okura Amsterdam have air conditioning?
All our hotel rooms are equipped with air conditioning.
Is it possible to get an early check-in?
Early check-in is possible based on availability and therefore not guaranteed. If you would like to have a guaranteed early check-in we advise you to book the night prior to your arrival.
What if I arrive at Hotel Okura Amsterdam before the check-in time of 3.00 pm?
You can store your luggage at the hotel and enjoy lunch at Yamazato or Serre, or start exploring the city of Amsterdam.
Is there a deposit required at check-in?
Be informed that all our guests leave a cash deposit or credit card authorisation. There are two ways of handling the deposit: Guests can either leave a cash deposit of € 200 per night to cover the room charge and incidentials in our restaurants or Nagomi Spa & Health. Or guests can let the hotel take a pre-authorisation on their credit card of € 100 per night. (A credit card pre-authorisation is much like any other charge on a credit card, except instead of actually debiting funds from the cardholder the hotel puts a temporary “hold” on the funds for the duration of the hotel stay.)
Can I have a late check-out?
A late check-out is possible based on availability. The additional charge for a late check-out is as following:
Until noon – Free of charge
Between 12 and 3 pm – 25% of the room charge
Between 3 pm and 6 pm – 50% of the room charge
After 6 pm – 100% of the room charge
Can I store my luggage after check-out?
You can store your luggage in the hotel and enjoy one more day in Amsterdam with no hassle.
Can I store my luggage at the hotel?
We would be more than happy to store your luggage before and after your stay.
Are there any age restrictions at the hotel?
You have to be 18 or older to make a booking or reservations at our hotel. The legal age for purchasing and consumption of alcohol in the Netherlands is 18 years.
Can I park my car at Hotel Okura Amsterdam and what does it cost?
We have our own ample parking facilities. The parking fee is € 5 per hour. Hotel guests pay € 55 per 24 hours.
How can I buy a gift card?
Okura’s gift card can be bought and picked up 24 hours a day at the Front Desk of Hotel Okura Amsterdam. If you are not around, you can purchase the gift card online. More information about the gift card can be found here.
Is validation of your gift cards limited?
Our gift cards are valid for one year from date of purchase. Please check the terms and conditions of the gift card at www.okura.nl/giftcard.
Do you offer a hotel shuttle service?
A shuttle runs from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. This service is operated by an outside company (Connexxion). From the airport it departs every 20 minutes from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm. This can only be reserved via their website: http://www.airporthotelshuttle.nl. From the hotel to the airport, reservations can be made with our Concierge Team via firstname.lastname@example.org at least two hours prior to departure. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 6.45 am until 9.45 pm.
The costs are € 18.50 (one way) and € 29.50 (return).
Is Hotel Okura Amsterdam situated near the city center?
The hotel is located in cosmopolitan De Pijp neighbourhood and the Museum Quarter is an easy, scenic stroll from the hotel. Amsterdam’s hot spots are easily accessible via public transport or try the Dutch way and go by bike.
Is the area of Hotel Okura Amsterdam safe?
De Pijp area, in which the hotel is situated, is one of the friendliest areas in Amsterdam where lots of families live. Please do not worry about your safety at night. Just take the precautions you would normally take when visiting a busy city.
How long does it take to get from the airport to Hotel Okura Amsterdam?
From Schiphol International Airport to the hotel will take approximately 15 minutes by car.

Can I get a table by the window?
You can always share your preference with us. We do our utmost best to give you a window table, but we cannot give any guarantee.
I have an allergy/special diet. Do you take this into account?
We want everyone to enjoy our gastronomic experience, whatever your dietary requirements are. Please share any dietary or allergy information with us beforehand.
Why do I have to give my credit card details?
Our restaurants are incredibly popular, which is why we have cancellation policy at Ciel Bleu, Yamazato and Sazanka. Your credit card details are used to guarantee your reservation. It will not be charged, unless you cancel after 3.00 pm on the day of the reservation or fail to cancel at all. In that case a cancellation fee is applicable.
Does Hotel Okura Amsterdam provide room service?
We offer 24 hour room service. The room service menu is available in every room.
I am not able to make a restaurant reservation through the website for my group reservation. How should I make a reservation?
Reservations for groups larger than 7 persons can be made with our Restaurant Reservation Department via +31 (0) 20 6787450 or email@example.com.
What is the dress code in the restaurants of Hotel Okura Amsterdam?
We kindly ask you to take our dress code ‘smart casual’ into account (no shorts above the knee (men), no flip-flops and no caps or hats).
Do we have to decide about a menu for our group beforehand?
We recommend this to ensure a smooth dining experience. The dishes in our restaurants are very delicate and time consuming to prepare. Deciding the menu last minute can result in longer waiting times.
Ciel Bleu Restaurant
Can I make a reservation for lunch at Ciel Bleu?
Ciel Bleu Restaurant is only open for dinner for individual guests. For groups, we can open Ciel Bleu for lunch upon request.
Do I have to leave when the kitchen closes at 9.30 pm?
No, as long as your last dishes have been ordered before 9.30 pm, you are welcome to stay as long as you like.
Can I reserve a spot at the sushi bar online?
Unfortunately not, but please feel free to contact the Restaurant Reservations Department via firstname.lastname@example.org or +31 (0)20 6788 450.
What is the difference between Sazanka and Yamazato Restaurant?
Although both Japanese, these two restaurants offer two very different experiences. In Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka the chef will cooking at your table on a hot griddle. You will be seated at larger tables which you share with other guests, resulting in a vibrant atmosphere. In Yamazato Restaurant, on the other hand, the authentic and delicate Japanese Kaiseki cuisine is served in a traditional and more intimate setting.
Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka
Should we pick a menu for Sazanka beforehand?
You are certainly welcome to choose a menu beforehand, however, you are not required to do so if your party consists of 8 guests or less. You may choose a menu or decide to eat à la carte in the restaurant as well.
Is it possible to eat sushi at Sazanka?
In Sazanka, we have a limited sushi menu available for our guests, which is served from the Yamazato kitchen and can therefore only be ordered before 9.30 pm.
Can we book our own table in Sazanka?
You will be seated with approximately 8 guests at one griddle, which means that it depends on your group size.
Is it possible to dine in private in Serre?
Serre exists of one open space. Therefore, it is not possible to dine in private in this restaurant. However, two large tables are located in the middle of the restaurant which are very convenient for groups.
Can I make a reservation for the terrace of Serre?
Serre’s terrace is located on the water side. Based on the weather forecast, the service will be done either outside or inside the restaurant. A request for a terrace table can be noted in the reservation. However, a reservation for the terrace cannot be assured.
Taste of Okura
When are the new dates for the workshops available?
Individual workshops will be uploaded as soon the dates area vailable. Each quarter, Chef Louise O’Hare compiles a new set of tasty workshops and masterclasses. As soon as we know the dates, we will share them on our website.
Can I book a workshop for 8 guests?
The minimum number of guests for a workshop is 10 guests. It is possible to book for 8 guests but a minimum spend is required.
Can I buy a voucher for the Taste of Okura?
Yes, you can buy our gift card at our front desk or we can send it to you by registered post. Costs for sending it by post are € 8.50.
How do I need to pay my Taste of Okura booking?
All Taste of Okura bookings (groups and individually) needs to be paid in advance.
Twenty Third Bar
Can I make a reservation at the Twenty Third Bar?
We do not take reservations for the Twenty Third Bar. You are free to walk in every moment during openings hours.
Is the Twenty Third Bar only accessible to hotel guests?
Twenty Third Bar is open to non-hotel and hotel guests alike.
What is the price of breakfast for children?
€ 17.50 per child (4 to 11 years). Breakfast is free for children younger than 4 years.
Can I make use of the breakfast restaurant when not staying at Hotel Okura Amsterdam?
You are very welcome to enjoy our delicious breakfast, even though you are not staying with us. Breakfast restaurant Le Camelia is open on weekdays from 6.30 am to 10.30 am and on weekends from 6.30 am to 11.30 am.
Is breakfast included in the room price?
This depends on your booking. You can find this in your confirmation email. If it is not included, you can add it to your booking by contacting our Reservations Department via email@example.com or +31 20 6788 300. The price for the breakfast is € 32.00 for an adult and € 17.50 for a child.
What kind of breakfast does Le Camelia serve?
Le Camelia is a buffet style breakfast restaurant with an à la carte menu, including several hot dishes that the chefs prepare for you à la minute.
Can the booking or reservation also be paid by third parties?
We can send you an authorization form or paybylink to guarantee or settle the reservation or booking for someone else.
Can you send me my invoice from my last visit?
Please contact our Front Desk via firstname.lastname@example.org. They can send you the invoice of your last visit.
How long does it take until my deposit is back on my credit card?
This depends on your credit card company. Directly after check-out, we will release the deposit from your credit card.
Are you going to charge my credit card in advance?
For a room booking, we only charge € 0.01 to your credit card in advance. We do this to avoid credit card fraud. The € 0.01 will be deducted from your total invoice.
Are pets allowed at the hotel?
Pets are not allowed, exceptions are made for official service dogs.
Where can I print my documents at Hotel Okura Amsterdam?
Please send your document to the concierge and ask them to print your documents. They are more than happy to assist you.
Does the hotel have a Business centre?
We do have a business centre in the basement of the hotel.
Can I make use of Wi-Fi in the hotel?
To use the internet, please select ‘’Okura’’. No username or password is required.
Are there any taxis available at the hotel?
We have a taxi stand in front of the hotel, where taxis are ready to pick you up immediately.
Can I rent a bike at the hotel?
Hotel Okura Amsterdam has its own bikes that can be rented via the concierge. Costs are € 18.75 per 24 hours. If you would like to make use of the bike rental service, please contact the concierge via email@example.com or via +31 (0)20 6787444.
Can the hotel arrange a babysitter?
We can arrange a babysitter. Costs are € 30 per hour and after midnight € 40 per hour (+ the costs for a taxi, depending on the babysitter).
What are the prices for limousine rental?
We offer 3 different kinds of limousine transfers, the charges per way are:
Per Mercedes-E class at € 92.50
Per Mercedes-S class at € 107.50
Per Mercedes-V class (minivan, max. 7 persons) at € 124.50
Please note that these rates are also applicable per hour.
What are the prices for bus rental?
Bus (max. 50 persons): € 275 transfer/hour.
Please note that in case of an airport pick up, an extra € 15 per transfer applies (parking costs).
Can I buy public transport tickets at Hotel Okura Amsterdam?
We sell 24, 48 and 72-hour public transportation tickets at our front desk. Costs are €8.00 (24), € 13.50 (48) and € 19.00 (72).
What is the difference between Nagomi Health and Nagomi Spa?
At Nagomi Health, use of the indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and gym is included in all hotel stays. For treatments you visit Nagomi Spa.
Can I make use of Nagomi Health when I am not a hotel guest?
Only guests from the hotel or Nagomi Spa or members can make use of the facilities in Nagomi Health.
What is the temperature of the swimming pool?
The swimming pool is heated to a comfortable 28 degrees Celsius.
What is the length of the swimming pool?
The swimming pool is 18 meters long, so it is excellent for lap swimming.
