  • How many guests can stay in one room?

    2 persons are allowed to stay in one room, however the Junior Suites and Suites give the possibility to place 1 extra bed for a 3rd guest in the room. 

  • Is Hotel Okura Amsterdam family-friendly?

    Children below 12 are not charged for their stay. If you book a family stay, you will have the pleasure of staying in one of our adjoining rooms, allowing for privacy and comfort. 

  • Can I have a king or twin bed during my stay?

    Kindly note that we cannot guarantee bed preference. 

  • What kind of adapter is used in the Netherlands?

    All of our rooms have wall sockets that are suitable for English, Swiss, French and Dutch plugs (type C and F). For United States travelers, we recommend to bring an adapter. In case you require an adapter during your stay, please contact Reception and we will gladly accomodate your request.

  • Is there a coffee machine in the room?

    All of our rooms have a Nespresso machine.

  • Do all rooms have a Japanese toilet?

    Not all of our rooms are equipped with a Japanese toilet. Only our Panorama rooms and Luxury Suites have this feature.

  • Do all rooms have air conditioning?

    All our hotel rooms are equipped with air conditioning.

  • Do all rooms have an iron and ironing board?

    Each room is equipped with an iron and ironing board. You will find both in the wardrobe.

  • Which TV channels are available in my hotel room?

    National and selected international TV channels are available at no charge. In all hotel rooms, there is a Chromecast available to stream from your own device.

  • What type of bedding do the rooms in Hotel Okura Amsterdam have?

  • Does Hotel Okura Amsterdam provide room service?

    We offer 24 hour room service. The room service menu is available in every room.

LOCATION

  • Is Hotel Okura Amsterdam situated near the city center?

    The hotel is located in cosmopolitan De Pijp neighbourhood and the Museum Quarter is an easy, scenic stroll from the hotel. Amsterdam’s hot spots are easily accessible via public transport or try the Dutch way and go by bike.

  • How is the area surrounding the hotel like?

    De Pijp area, in which the hotel is situated, is a peaceful area of Amsterdam. Please do not worry about your safety at night, and ensure to take the precautions you would normally take when visiting a busy city.

  • How long does it take to get from the airport to Hotel Okura Amsterdam?

    It will take approximately 15 minutes by car and 30 minutes by public transport.

RESTAURANTS, BARS & SHOPS

  • How can I make a group reservation?

    Reservations for groups larger than 7 persons can be made with our Restaurant Reservation Department via +31 (0) 20 6787450 or restaurants@okura.nl.

  • What is the dress code in the restaurants of Hotel Okura Amsterdam?

    We kindly ask you to take our dress code ‘smart casual’ into account (no shorts above the knee (men), no flip-flops and no caps or hats).

  • If booking for a group, should we decide the menu beforehand?

    We recommend this to ensure a smooth dining experience. The dishes in our restaurants are very delicate and time consuming to prepare. Deciding the menu last minute can result in longer waiting times.

  • Can I get a table by the window?

    You can always share your preference with us. We do our utmost best to give you a window table, but we cannot give any guarantee.

  • I have an allergy/special diet. Do you take this into account?

    We want everyone to enjoy our gastronomic experience, whatever your dietary requirements are. Please share any dietary or allergy information with us beforehand.

  • What is the difference between Sazanka and Yamazato Restaurant?

    Although both restaurants focus on the Japanese cuisine, Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka offers a live cooking experience, with the chef preparing the dishes on a hot griddle in front of you. In Yamazato Restaurant, on the other hand, the authentic and delicate Japanese Kaiseki cuisine is served in a traditional and more intimate setting.

  • Should we pick a menu for Sazanka beforehand?

    A la carte menu options are not available at Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka. Guests are welcome to choose from a set menu.  

  • Is it possible to eat sushi at Sazanka?

    It is not possible to eat sushi at Sazanka.

  • Is private dining possible at Serre?

    Serre exists of one open space. Therefore, it is not possible to dine in private in this restaurant. However, two large tables are located in the middle of the restaurant which are very convenient for groups.

  • Is the Twenty Third Bar only accessible to hotel guests?

    Twenty Third Bar warmly welcomes all hotel guests and external visitors. 

  • Is breakfast included in the room price?

    This depends on your booking. You can find this in your confirmation email. If it is not included, you can add it to your booking by contacting our Reservations Department via reservations@okura.nl or +31 20 6788 300. The price for the breakfast is €42 for an adult. For children, the following prices apply: free of charge until the age of 3, €21 for the ages 4 until 11, €42 from age 12.

  • How do you serve breakfast?

    We offer you serviced breakfast buffet, which includes both Western and Japanese cuisine options. Depending on the occupancy of the hotel, breakfast will be served in your room via room service or at Le Camelia. You will be informed about this upon check-in.

PAYMENT

  • Can you send me my invoice from my last visit?

    Please contact our Front Desk via info@okura.nl. They can send you the invoice of your last visit.

  • How long does it take until my deposit is back on my credit card?

    This depends on your credit card company. Directly after check-out, we will release the deposit from your credit card.

  • Are you going to charge my credit card in advance?

    For a room booking, we only charge € 0.01 to your credit card in advance. We do this to avoid credit card fraud. The € 0.01 will be deducted from your total invoice.

  • Can the booking or reservation also be paid by third parties?

    We can send you an authorization form or paybylink to guarantee or settle the reservation or booking for someone else.

  • Which payment options can I use in the hotel and restaurants?

    You can pay with the following payment methods: American Express, China Union Pay, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, Maestro, MasterCard and VISA. You can also use ApplePay in the hotel.

  • How can I buy a gift card?

    Okura’s gift card can be bought and picked up 24 hours a day at the Front Desk of Hotel Okura Amsterdam. If you are not around, then opt for the digital gift card, which will be sent out per email. 


  • What is the additional charge for an extra bed?

    Our Junior Suites and Suites give the possibility to place an extra bed in the room. The price for an extra bed is € 70 per night.


  • Why do I have to give my credit card details?

    To guarantee bookings, we need credit card information. Kindly note that the cancellation fee of 25 EUR  applies for Serre and Sazanka, 200 EUR for Ciel Bleu, and 100 EUR for Yamazato. For rooms reservations which are cancelled, the full room price is charged.


  • Is there a deposit required at check-in?

    Kindly note that all our guests leave a cash deposit or credit card authorisation. There are two ways of handling the deposit: Guests can either leave a cash deposit of € 200 per night to cover the room charge and incidentials in our restaurants or Nagomi Spa & Health. Or guests can let the hotel take a pre-authorisation on their credit card of € 100 per night. (A credit card pre-authorisation is much like any other charge on a credit card, except instead of actually debiting funds from the cardholder the hotel puts a temporary “hold” on the funds for the duration of the hotel stay.)


SERVICE FACILITIES

  • Where can I print my documents at Hotel Okura Amsterdam?

    Please send your document to the concierge and ask them to print your documents. They are more than happy to assist you.

  • Does the hotel have a Business Centre?

    The Business Centre is located on the -1 floor of our hotel. Upon entering the lobby, you can find it by going down the stairs on your right.

  • Is there Wi-Fi available at the hotel?

    To use the internet, please select the network ‘’Okura’’. No username or password is required.

  • Are pets allowed at the hotel?

    Unfortunately, we do not allow pets in the hotel premises. Exceptions are only made for service dogs.

  • I lost something, what should I do?

    In case you misplace any personal belongings during your stay, we kindly request you to submit a lost item report through Faundit. Once the report is submitted, we will diligently search for your lost items. If a match is identified, an email notification will be promptly sent to you.


    Should you choose to collect the item in person, we will request you to complete a simple handover form upon retrieval.


  • Can I park my car at Hotel Okura Amsterdam and what does it cost?

    We have our own ample parking facilities, including electric charging. The parking fee is € 6,50 per hour. Hotel guests pay € 65 per 24 hours.


  • Can I store my luggage at the hotel?

    We would be more than happy to store your luggage before and after your stay.

  • Does the hotel have newspaper delivery?

    We have 2 complimentary newspapers available, New York Times and De Telegraaf. If you have other preferences in terms of newspapers, please kindly place an order through reception. 

  • Is it possible to get an early check-in?

    We offer early check-in as an add-on, for €120. Enjoy the Okura-experience a little longer by upgrading your reservation with an early check-in. You can request this package via reservations@okura.nl. Kindly note it is upon availability. Additionally, you can comfortably store your luggage with us and make use of our wellness facilities.

  • Can I have a late check-out?

    We offer late check-out as an add-on for €109. Enjoy the Okura-experience a little longer by upgrading your reservation with a late check-out. You can request this package via reservations@okura.nl. Kindly note it is upon availability.

  • What are the prices for limousine service?

  • Can I make a reservation for a bus rental?

    Bus rental can be arranged upon request and depends on the number of guests. Please kindly contact our Groups Reservations team for a quote. 

  • Can I buy public transport tickets at Hotel Okura Amsterdam?

    We sell 24, 48 and 96-hour public transportation tickets at our front desk. Costs are €9.50 (24), € 15.00 (48) and € 27.00 (96).

  • Are there any taxis available at the hotel?

    We have a taxi stand in front of the hotel, where taxis are readily available.

  • Can I rent a bike at the hotel?

    Hotel Okura Amsterdam has its own bikes that can be rented via the concierge. Costs are € 18.50 per 24 hours. If you would like to make use of the bike rental service, please contact the concierge via concierge@okura.nl or via +31 (0)20 6787444.

  • Can the hotel arrange a babysitter?

    We can arrange a babysitter. Costs are € 45 per hour and after midnight € 55 per hour (+20€ taxi fee). Please note that there is a minimum of three hours for this service.

WELLNESS

  • Can I make use of Nagomi Gym & Wellness when I am not a hotel guest?

    Nagomi Gym & Wellness is only accessible to hotel guests, guests of Nagomi Spa, and private members.

  • What is the temperature of the swimming pool?

    The swimming pool is heated to a comfortable 28 degrees Celsius.

  • What is the length of the swimming pool?

    The swimming pool is 18 meters long and therefore perfect for swimming laps.

  • What is the difference between Nagomi Gym & Wellness and Nagomi Spa Treatments?

    At Nagomi Gym & Wellness, use of the indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and gym is included in all hotel stays. For treatments you visit Nagomi Spa Treatments.

REGULATIONS

  • Are there any age restrictions at the hotel?

    You have to be 18 or older to make a booking or reservations at our hotel. The legal age for purchasing and consumption of alcohol in the Netherlands is 18 years.


  • Is it possible to smoke in the room?

    As per Dutch law, we are a non-smoking hotel. Kindly note that a € 250 fee applies for misconduct. We have a designated smoking area outside in front of the hotel.
