SEAsoNAL WELlNESS AT NAGOMI

STAY FIT AND BALANCED ALL YEAR
At Nagomi Gym & Wellness, we believe wellness is about aligning with nature's rhythm. Each season influences how we move, eat, and recover. Whether you're chasing sun or snow, here's how to stay energised throughout the year, physically and mentally.
SPRING: RESET & REJUVENATE
Spring signals a fresh start. As the days grow longer and nature comes back to life, it's the perfect time to refresh your routine.
- Movement: Light cardio like walking, cycling, or a dynamic yoga flow can ease your body out of winter stiffness. Functional training helps you rebuild lost strength without strain.
- ·Recovery: Sauna sessions and lymphatic drainage massages support detoxification after the slower winter months.
- Mindfulness: This is a great season to reset your mindset: set new goals, declutter your habits, and try meditation or breathwork to clear mental fog.
SUMMER: ENERGIZE & MAINTAIN
Summer invites us to move more, explore more, and enjoy the outdoors. But high temperatures and busy schedules can also take a toll.
- Training Smart: Shift your workouts to cooler parts of the day. Swimming, outdoor yoga, or bodyweight training are perfect for staying active without overheating.
- Hydration & Nutrition: With increased activity, it’s vital to stay hydrated and support your body with nutrient-rich, water-dense foods.
- Recovery & Balance: Balance high energy with restoration: massages, cold showers, and cooling body treatments help regulate your nervous system and support recovery.
AUTUMN: GROUND & STRENGTHEN
Autumn is the season of grounding. As the pace of life steadies, it’s a good time to refocus your wellness priorities and build a stronger foundation.
- Routine & Structure: Reintroduce consistency in your workouts. Focus on compound movements and strength training to prepare your body for colder months.
- Postural Health: With more indoor hours and screen time, posture and core strength become especially important. Try Pilates, posture-based strength sessions, or mobility classes.
- Mental Reset: This season often brings mental fatigue. Mindfulness practices like meditation or restorative yoga can help bring clarity and calm into your routine.
WINTER: EXPERT PREP FOR SNOW SeASON
"A good physical preparation is essential for a fun and injury-free winter holiday," - Henk Looman, Nagomi Gym & Wellness Manager.
Winter wellness is about resilience. Whether you’re heading to the mountains or simply adjusting to colder, darker days, smart movement and recovery are key.
If you’re planning a winter sports holiday, preparation is especially important. Henk Looman, our Gym & Wellness Manager, shares his expert advice:
- Leg Strength & Endurance: Prioritise exercises like squats, lunges, and calf raises to strengthen quads, hamstrings, glutes, and stabilisers. Add plyometric drills (box jumps, jumping lunges) to improve agility and explosiveness.
- Core Stability: A strong core is crucial for balance and control on the slopes. Incorporate planks, Russian twists, and Superman extensions to build front and back body support.
- Cardio Conditioning: Skiing and snowboarding require short bursts of power followed by recovery. Mix steady-state cardio with interval training to mirror slope intensity.
Good tip: Start your preparation at least 6–8 weeks before your trip to build strength gradually and avoid post-slope soreness.
Not hitting the slopes? Winter is still a great time to focus on building strength, improving circulation, and investing in recovery—especially with our warm indoor facilities and expert therapists.
