Ciel Bleu ranked best restaurant in Amsterdam in ‘Lekker 500’

Ciel Bleu makes the 2018 Lekker Top 3

Amsterdam, November 2, 2017 –  Ciel Bleu Restaurant attained third place in the ‘Lekker 500’ making this two-Michelin star holder one of the three best restaurants in the Netherlands and the top-ranked restaurant in Amsterdam. Also located in Hotel Okura Amsterdam, Yamazato Restaurant ranked forty-fourth in the venerated Dutch culinary guide.

Delighted by the news, Ciel Bleu’s executive chef and manager Onno Kokmeijer remarked ‘This year’s ranking is a splendid recognition of our team’s efforts. We are very proud and honoured with this achievement.’

Lekker is a culinary magazine and independent restaurant guide that ranks the Netherlands’ 500 best restaurants annually. It judges the restaurants on sixty criteria, including menu composition, quality of dishes and products, presentation, hospitality, wines and pairing suggestions.

On ranking Ciel Bleu third in the listing, the Lekker jury remarked ‘The rise of this impeccable restaurant is striking. We were blown away by the incredible menu.’

Yamazato, another restaurant inside Hotel Okura Amsterdam, also landed in Lekker's top one hundred ranking forty-fourth. The jury described Yamazato as an ‘Extraordinary experience; always an impressive welcome by the friendly Kimono-clad waitresses who lead you to your table.’ Two other restaurants of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, Serre and Sazanka, also placed, earning spots for all four of its dining establishments in the prestigious listing.
