Assistant Service Manager Serre Restaurant

Hotel Okura Amsterdam is looking for a fulltime Assistant Service Manager for the Serre Restaurant. Serre Restaurant is opened in 2011 and is awarded with a Bib Gourmand for its excellent price/quality ratio. The menu includes classical as well as innovative dishes and forms an international blend of diverse dishes.

As Assistant Service Manager you are supporting the Service Manager and you are responsible for managing the team in absence of the Service Manager. Within our hotel there is a big focus on training and development of the team to obtain constant improvement in quality and service, therefore you also play an active role in coaching and teaching the service staff team members.

Serre Restaurant is opened daily from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m, offering both lunch and dinner. The team of our Serre Restaurant consists of approximately fifteen colleagues. Your working times are flexible within a 38 hour week, during 5 days a week.

  • Operational work in the restaurant in order to coach and guide the team
  • Be an ambassador of the hotel and restaurant
  • Be on top of the daily operation by thorough knowledge of the restaurant, hotel, bookings, procedures and your team.
  • Play an active role in coaching and motivating the team
  • Due to your own extensive experience, you can help your team-members develop within Okura
  • Train new colleagues
  • Give instructions to supervisors and other employees
  • Make schedules, perform evaluations and administrative tasks
  • Coordinate and manage timing of service and event flow with back of the house and guests
  • Assist in creating loyal guests and handling requests, comments and complaints
  • Use your thorough knowledge of wines

You show similar work experience in luxury hotels and/or restaurants

You are flexible with regards to your work schedule ▪ You are guest oriented ▪ Eye for detail

Fluent in both Dutch and English (verbal and written)
