New acquisitions within Hotel Okura Amsterdam

As of January 2012 Hotel Okura Amsterdam, one of the most luxurious five star hotels in Amsterdam, welcomed three new employees: Human Resources Director Betty Dekker, Executive Chef Andreas Mahl and Manager Marketing & Communications Joyce Aerts.


Betty Dekker started on March 12th as Human Resources Director. In 2004 she changed to the hospitality industry, starting in the position of Manager Human Resources for Novotel Amsterdam City. Subsequently, she transferred to the head office of Accor and became Senior Manager Human Resources for all Accor hotels within the Netherlands.


As of January, Andreas Mahl fulfils the position of Executive Chef and is responsible for the large banqueting kitchen of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, as well as the breakfast for guests. Mahl has gained international experience in various hotels, such as Swissotel Istanbul, St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino and Hanbury Manor Marriott.


Since February 1st, Joyce Aerts is Manager Marketing & Communications. Aerts worked as PR advisor at the communications agency Newslab for several years, before being responsible for the online department of Sanoma Media.




About Hotel Okura Amsterdam

Hotel Okura Amsterdam is situated on the edge of the city centre, close to a large number of cultural landmarks. The hotel has 300 luxury rooms, including the ‘SUITE’ the most spacious (485 m2) and luxurious suite in the BeNeLux countries. At the ‘Taste of Okura’ Culinary Centre, guests can prepare the Okura’s chefs’ dishes themselves, while the sommeliers explain how to pair wine and sake with the culinary creations.
