Hotel Okura Amsterdam appoints Emmy Stoel as General Manager

Tokyo, 12 December 2012, Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. a major shareholder of Hotel Okura Amsterdam B.V. and the management company for Hotel Okura Amsterdam, has announced that Emmy Stoel has been appointed General Manager of the hotel starting January 1, 2013.


Marcel P. van Aelst, former President and General Manager (who has been General Manager since 1994), will continue to hold the position of President and Statutory Director of the hotel.


Emmy Stoel served at the Hotel Okura Amsterdam from 1991 till 2000 in various management positions before leaving the Netherlands to work in Brussels, Vienna and Frankfurt. Stoel returned to Hotel Okura Amsterdam as Deputy General Manager in 2008. In 2011 she was appointed Acting General Manager. Stoel commented, “I am excited about my appointment and pledge to uphold the company’s high standards to maintain and expand the status of Hotel Okura Amsterdam as one of the finest five-star hotels in Amsterdam.”


Emmy Stoel is a graduate of Bavaria Hotel Berufsfachschule and Hotel Management School Maastricht.
