Rijksmuseum

Stedelijk Museum

Moret amongst others.

The Stedelijk Museum has closed its doors on October 9, 2011, for the final phase of construction. The museum expects the grand reopening to be in 2012, after the completion of the renovation and expansion project. Until the reopening, the museum presents Temporary Stedelijk 3: Stedelijk @, a program that includes performances, film screenings, lectures, discussions, music, book launches, interactive happenings and other events. Stedelijk @ is being developed in close collaboration with various cultural institutions in Amsterdam, such as the Concertgebouw, the Appel arts centre, the Rijksakademie, the Ateliers, SMBA and many others.

Anne Frank Huis

Memorial to the famed, doomed diarist, her family and four other Jews who hid from the Nazi's in World War II. It displays sections of Anne Frank´s diary and historic photographs and has informational exhibits about racism and antisemitism.

Nederlands Scheepvaart Museum

A major maritime museum housed in one of the grand headquarters of the Dutch East India Company, includes a full-scale replica of an 18th-century East India Company Ship.

Koninklijk Paleis

The Royal Palace on Dam Square, built by Jacob van Campen in the Dutch classical style, features magnificent state rooms, sculptures and paintings by followers of Rembrandt.
