The Stedelijk Museum for Modern Art presents over 1,000 modern art exhibits, from 1850 to the present day, from impressionism and expressionism to pop and minimalism. Its features include paintings by Cézanne, Chagall, Picasso and Moret amongst others. On September 23rd, the leading museum for modern and contemporary art in the Netherlands will open its doors again, after an extensive renovation and expansion project. Until the reopening, the museum presents Temporary Stedelijk 3: Stedelijk @, a program that includes performances, film screenings, lectures, discussions, music, book launches, interactive happenings and other events. Stedelijk @ is being developed in close collaboration with various cultural institutions in Amsterdam, such as the Concertgebouw, the Appel arts centre, the Rijksakademie, the Ateliers, SMBA and many others. |
