Assistant Chief engineer
Hotel Okura Amsterdam is looking for a fulltime Assistant Chief Engineer for the Engineering department. The Engineering team is responsible for resolving any technical inconveniences and maintenance within the hotel. A five star hotel as large as Hotel Okura Amsterdam is like a city on it’s own. Diverse, state of the art installations require specialists. From refrigerator light to 150.000 liters of water in the pool, every resource should be in good technical condition. The Engineering team consists of 12 employees, of which one Chief Engineering and one Assistant Chief Engineering.
As Assistant Chief Engineer you will support the Chief Engineer and take over his tasks in case of absence. You will give guidance to the team, consisting of diverse technical experts and you will make sure that every issue is handled correctly. You have a lot of contact with external companies with regards to maintenance and malfunction activitiesl.
tasks and responsibilities
- Report to the Chief Engineer and jointly give guidance to a team of 12 employees
- Supporting the Chief Engineer and take over tasks where necessary
- Responsible for controlling and operationally implementing outsourced maintenance activities
- Guide, together with the Chief Engineer, renovation activities
- Analysing diverse processes within the hotel and bringing up possible improvements
- Ensuring an efficient operation and making daily rounds to control and implement technical maintenance
profile
- You are a technical allrounder with multiple years of experience in a similar position
- You have a MTS, or similar, diploma
- You have affinity with service
- You are familiar with relevant regulations
- You are hand-on and have management experience
- You employ excellent communicative skills
- You are fluent in both Dutch and English (oral and written)
- You have a flexible and independent work attitude
- You are representative
- You have relevant knowledge of Word and Excel
